I was going to build the ROFI biped walking robot... started printing the files from Thingiverse and soon found that I was not a fan of the design of the parts... I already ordered servos, so what to do? Then JeffRo showed me a link to a quadruped bot, and he started off building one of his amazing PVC creations, Roamer. Well, that got me thinking about a quadruped. Sure I had done some walking bots before, but they were Theo Jansen inspired walkers, cool, but not the same as a real 4 leg one. So off to SketchUp and I started designing "Scout".
He'll be my little doggie. So far I have the frame completed. It uses MG996r metal gear servos, with bearings supporting the leg pivots. He still needs a head, but I guess I need to decide what sensors he will have and what microcontroller I will use, I have a number of options. Scout is large enough to hold an 8" tablet, but I'm not sure I want that much weight. I'm thinking maybe a Raspberry Pi 3 and a Propeller, along with a Veyron servo driver.
I have a lot of work to do, and the coding should be a real challenge
